Invisible Witness App — Help & Support

The Invisible Witness app lets approved users open nearby gates from their phone, view system advisories, and manage their access profile. Gate access is granted by the organization that operates each gate: you register once, an administrator reviews and approves your request, and your phone is then provisioned for the gates you are permitted to use.

Registering for access

Open the app and complete the registration form. Your account is created right away, but gate access is granted only after an administrator approves your request. The form asks for:

  • Name, email & password — your login.
  • Phone number — used for SMS verification and administrator communication. Enter a 10-digit North American number. You will receive a 6-digit code by text to confirm it.
  • Registration code — the unique code provided by the gate owner or organization. This links your registration to the correct organization. Contact the gate owner for this code if you do not already have one.
  • Default license plate — your vehicle license plate, pre-authorized for access. Letters and numbers only, no spaces or dashes (e.g. ABC1234). Max 10 characters.
  • Existing card or fob — if you have been issued an existing access card or fob, enter its ID here (e.g. IW0000000). Leave blank if you do not have one.
  • Access reason — a brief description of why you require access. Reviewed during approval — be specific (e.g. “Resident at Unit 4B” or “Contracted maintenance technician”).
  • Requested gates — list the region, specific gates or access points you are requesting, separated by commas. Leave blank if unsure — an administrator will assign appropriate access.
  • Affiliated organization — the company, employer, or organization you are affiliated with. Helps the gate owner verify your access request. Enter “Individual” if you are not affiliated with an organization.

Before submitting, you will review and accept the Credential Holder Terms and Privacy Policy. Your request then goes to the organization’s administrator. Once approved, reopen the app — your Profile tab will show your assigned gates and your phone will be ready to open them.

The app tabs

Profile
Your registration details, organization, role, assigned gates, and issued credentials. You can update your email and default licence plate here. If your account is still pending approval, this tab shows your current status.
Gate Control
Scans for nearby gates over Bluetooth and lists the ones you are permitted to use, along with any current safety conditions (such as hazard, high fire, or high rainfall). Tap a permitted gate to open it — your phone authenticates securely, the same way a hardware fob does. You must be physically near a gate for it to appear.
Advisories
System notices and advisories published by the operator — service notices, current conditions, and other announcements.
Activity
Shown to guard and supervisor roles only: a feed of recent gate activity and tamper alerts.
